The price is quite straightforward for portraits.
Only 2 options:
Black and white € 75.00
Color € 95.00
It's important to note that the price is per portrait.
So, if you have 2 faces or 2 animal heads, the price will also be twice as much.
The price for other drawings, apart from portraits, is available upon request.
You can choose from the following drawing sizes:
30x40
40x50
50x70
Sending for the drawing costs approximately € 25.00 ,depending on the country.
Information shipping:
If the drawing cannot be picked up, it can be shipped to you. The drawing will be securely affixed to cardboard and transported between wooden panels for protection.
Upon arrival, you can easily place the drawing, still attached to the cardboard, into a standard frame.
Due to the drawing's fragility, it is advisable to frame it as soon as possible.
Once framed, it can last for many years!
Information material:
The material is pastel chalk and pencil.
Specially dry chalk and pencil drawn on special velvety pastel paper.
This unique combination of chalk, pencil, and soft paper makes the drawings so special.
The artist Rob in his own words:
I've always enjoyed sketching, but my true passion for it ignited during a trip to the South of France.
I was on vacation in a small town in South France, where I stumbled upon several artists sketching in a square. Some were caricature artists, and others were portrait artists. Caricature drawing is truly a unique skill, and I hope to learn it someday. But my attention was particularly drawn to one portrait artist. A crowd had gathered to watch him work, and I was amazed at what he could create on paper using just pastels and pencils. That's when I thought, 'I'd love to learn this too.' I used to sketch a lot in the past, so why not pick it up again?
After he finished his sketch that evening, I had a brief conversation with him. I was especially curious about how he had honed his sketching skills. He emphasized that practice was the most crucial factor, along with the choice of materials. There are various types of pastel paper and pencils, but I was particularly intrigued by what he used. He sketched on special velvet-like paper, which made the colors appear beautifully. He gave me a piece of this paper to practice with. It wasn't easy the first time, but once I was back in the Netherlands, I decided to order the paper (it was imported from abroad, and I had to buy a significant quantity). So, I practiced a lot, and gradually, I started to make progress. Unfortunately, I lost contact with the French artist, but I had learned a lot from him.
Pastelportrettekening.nl has been around for a while and is easy to find on search engines, even on the first page in some cases. You don't have to visit in person to get a sketch; just send a photo, and it will be recreated. You can also send a photo of someone else, especially if that person or pet is dear to you. Upon special request, I can also sketch something different. Examples of such requests are visible in various samples.
Hopefully, I'll have the chance to create a beautiful portrait for you someday.
